Neyers Teaches Intensive Course at the University of Sydney
From February 15-25, 2016, Professor Jason Neyers taught an intensive course at Sydney Law School at the University of Sydney. The Advanced Torts course examined nuisance, vicarious liability, non-delegable duty, pure economic loss, the economic torts, and misfeasance in a public office through cases and materials from Australia, Canada, and the United Kingdom. One of the key questions addressed was whether there was any theory that could adequately explain the well-accepted contours of tort law doctrine in these countries. Approximately twenty LLB and JD students took part in the course that ran for forty hours over two weeks. “It was wonderful to visit Sydney University and to be able to discuss these difficult issues with the Australian students from a comparative perspective,” said Neyers. While in Sydney, Neyers also met up with several local members of the Obligations Discussion Group.
