JD Academic Programs

Western Law's academic program is designed to equip students for success in the evolving legal profession. Our first-year curriculum focuses on foundational subjects and on legal research, writing and advocacy skills. In upper years, students will build on these skills through a range of advanced courses, clinical and experiential opportunities, research seminars, and advocacy training. We have developed a number of curricular streams to assist students in preparing for their desired careers, each with a capstone course that ties learning to practice. Students may also enhance their global awareness through one of our many international exchanges.
