Becoming a Client
WIPILC clients range from postsecondary researchers, authors, artists, inventors, and entrepreneurs to small businesses seeking to scale up. Potential clients include students, staff, faculty, and alumni of Western University and Fanshawe College, individuals or businesses engaged with accelerators & incubators, and members of the Southwestern Ontario community more broadly. We seek to serve clients with creative and innovative ideas that are unable to afford the prohibitive costs associated with IP legal assistance.
To be eligible for WIPILC’s services, a prospective client should:
- Not be receiving legal assistance from a licensed lawyer or another pro bono legal clinic on the same legal matter(s) being presented to WIPILC
- Demonstrate a financial inability to retain professional legal services
- Demonstrate a need for legal assistance related to intellectual property rights, data, privacy, digital platforms, or related matters.
If you are interested in becoming a WIPILC client, please complete the WIPILC Pre-Intake Questionnaire below or contact us.
Please note: WIPILC pauses its operations and does not review new client applications during student exam periods (December to mid-January and April to mid-May).
