Structured recruitment drives

One way to secure employment is through structured 1L or 2L summer or articling recruitment drives. These drives are typically organized in major cities, and the timing is set by the provincial regulator or bar association, or by voluntary employer agreements. Some employers participate in on-campus interviews (OCIs), while others skip that step and just go directly to in-firm interviews. While not every student secures a position through these structured recruitment drives, they serve as important career path, particularly for those aiming to work in large centres.
