Mohamed F. Khimji currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Western University. A dedicated academic leader, he brings broad experience in legal education, institutional governance, and community engagement.

Born and raised in Tanzania, Mohamed is a first-generation university graduate and internationally trained lawyer. His personal and professional journey continues to shape his deep commitment to inclusive education, student empowerment, and research that makes a real-world impact.

Prior to returning to Western in 2025, Mohamed was the David Allgood Professor in Business Law at Queen’s University, where he served as Director of the Business Law Program, Associate Dean (Academic Policy), and Associate Dean (Graduate Studies). He previously held the Stephen Dattels Chair in Corporate Finance Law at Western and taught at Dalhousie’s Schulich School of Law.

He has served on the board of the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation and currently sits on the board of Small World Music. Deeply community-minded, he is committed to building connections across sectors and disciplines.

Mohamed is also a strong advocate for mentorship and interdisciplinary collaboration. In the classroom, he brings legal theory to life through contemporary case studies such as in his widely recognized course, Law (Taylor’s Version), which examines the intersection of law and the music industry.
