Reena Bhatt
Reena Bhatt, LLB'94, practises at Alchemy, where she focuses on growth-stage companies dealing with complex tax and business issues.
She has advised companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 10 on their cross-border business and tax issues, specializing in international transactions.
Reena serves on the advisory boards of growth-stage companies and is a mentor with the Unreasonable Group, a global community supporting growth-stage entrepreneurs offering solutions to seemingly intractable challenges.
Reena is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Law at New York University and previously taught at Western Law.
She is also a Vice-President and Director of the Canadian Association of New York and its Foundation, and is the first non-Canadian resident board member of Canada's National Arts Centre Foundation.
Prior to joining Alchemy, Reena was the Global Tax Director of a global, multi-billion dollar technology and media company. And prior to that, she was an International Tax Partner with Ernst and Young.
Reena started her legal career in Ottawa, first in private practice and then as Chief of Staff and Senior Legal and Political Advisor to the Mayor of Ottawa. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Carleton University, an LLB from Western University, and an LLM in International Taxation from New York University.
