Western Law Hosts Inaugural Moot in Legal Ethics

April 07, 2010 - On April 6th, 2010, Western Law hosted a new advocacy competition in Legal Ethics and Professionalism. The competition, sponsored by Lenczner Slaght Royce Smith Griffin LLP, featured twenty first-year students appealing the Supreme Court of Canada’s decision in Strother v. 3464920 Canada Inc., a case involving conflict of interest and a lawyer’s duty of loyalty.

Students Gain education in Advocacy at 2010 Lerners Cup

October 01, 2010 - Robert Glasgow was this year’s top oralist in the Lerners Cup, Western Law’s upper year appellate advocacy competition. The Lerners LLP Cup drew more than 60 students to moot questions related to a child’s refusal to consent to a blood transfusion for religious reasons.

BLG Moot Highlights Labour and Employment Law

October 28, 2010 - The eleventh annual Borden Ladner Gervais (BLG) LLP Labour and Employment Law Oral Advocacy Competition was held at Western Law on Wednesday, October 27. Ten teams of two from Western Law and two teams of two from Windsor competed with senior lawyers from BLG acting as judges.
